Facial Rejuvenation

Chinese Medicine has been used for over 2000 years to counteract the signs of aging, balance the complexion, and enhance beauty. Known as Mei Rong (Chinese Medical Cosmetology), cosmetic acupuncture incorporates many therapies such as acupuncture facial rejuvenation, gua sha, cupping therapy, essential oils, LED light therapy, and herbal therapies that address not only your appearance but the whole person, enhancing beauty from within.

Facial Acupuncture helps to stimulate collagen, firm slack muscles, relax overly taut muscles, reduce dark circles, decongest pores, and increase circulation to bring vitality to to your face.

What Is The Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation Like At Our Clinic?

We will assess the areas of imbalance in your body and customize acupuncture points on the face and body to rebalance you, activating your body’s natural ability to heal itself. Facial concerns will be addressed directly, using acupuncture and other therapies such as gua sha, cupping, or essential oils.

The facial rejuvenation treatment at our clinic is a five step process that is tailored to your specific needs. First we will discuss your concerns and your practitioner will develop a customized acupuncture treatment for you

As we begin the cosmetic acupuncture treatment, we will first make sure that your face is relaxed and hydrated using one of our customized plant waters that will encourage the face to be receptive to the therapies that follow.

Whole Body Cosmetic Acupuncture

Next, we will choose acupuncture points on the body to balance your constitution, and points on the face to bring movement and vitality to problem areas. We will apply a house-made essential oil blend customized to your specific needs. The oil will reinforce the work done with acupuncture as well as moisturize the face in preparation for the final step.

Facial Gua Sha Or Facial Cupping

In the final phase of the treatment we will continue the process of opening energy blockages and increasing circulation, using either facial gua sha or facial cupping, depending on your specific needs. This will encourage any toxins to leave the body by activating the body’s natural pathways of elimination.

How Long Is A Facial Rejuvenation Session?

The initial visit is 75 minutes and follow up visits are 60 minutes.

What Are Facial Cupping Therapy And Gua Sha?

Gua sha can be translated as scraping and it is a technique that is used on the body and face to break up stagnation and encourage the flow of qi and blood. When applied to the face a jade tool is used and the movement is slow and deliberate, which activates underlying fascia and promotes rejuvenation from below the level of the skin. It is also extremely relaxing, which gives the face suppleness and the ability to let go of any stagnant qi. The end result is a smoother, more contoured complexion.

Cupping has a similar ability to move stagnation and encourage flow, but focuses more on lymph drainage when applied to the face. Unlike the cupping that is done on the body, this does not leave marks on the face. Instead, it reduces puffiness and creates a healthy sculpted look.

What Kind Of Results Can I Expect?

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture will leave you with a more lifted appearance and healthy glow after just one treatment. For longer lasting changes including softening of creases and more sculpted contours, a series of 10-12 treatments over 6-10 weeks is recommended. Monthly follow-up visits help to maintain the results of a series of treatments.

When Should I Seek Treatment?

Treatment is effective at any stage of concern, whether you are looking to prevent issues or have long-standing ones. Opening the flow of qi and blood in the face will retrain the muscles and skin, mitigating the effects of gravity, stress, pollution, and general stagnation that take a toll on the face.

What If I Have Botox Or Fillers?

Chinese medicine can be used alongside botox or fillers but you will have to wait 10 days after you’ve had Botox and 3 weeks after fillers before having any other therapies administered on the face.

What Can Cosmetic Acupuncture Treat?

Many of your concerns can be addressed using acupuncture facial rejuvenation including wrinkles, sagging skin, acne, hyperpigmentation, and puffiness from poor lymph drainage. Approaching these concerns from a holistic perspective is deeply effective as it goes to the root of the issue and then works outward. In addressing the whole person, you can also see other health concerns such as digestion, sleep, stress, anxiety, jaw tension and TMJ, and headaches will also improve. So in the end, not only do you see a difference in your appearance, but you also feel better.
