Herbs also effect the body physiologically. For eczema, many of the herbs that are used are known to have immunoregulatory properties that help to regulate the inflammatory process causing the eczema. Other herbs have immune boosting properties or anti-bacterial and antiviral capabilities.
How do I take Chinese herbs?
The most common ways to take Chinese herbs are in a tea, pills, or tincture. The teas, often called decoctions. In this method, the herbs are boiled for 20-40 minutes to make the strong tea. Our office also uses tinctures because they are effective and easier to take than decoctions. Tinctures are alcohol extracts of the herbs.
